Western Ohio Educational Foundation Recognizes Scholarship Recipients

Over 120 scholarship recipients were awarded over $200,000

CELINA, Ohio – The Western Ohio Educational Foundation and Wright State University – Lake Campus held their Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony on Tuesday, June 7th in James F. Dicke Hall located at the Lake Campus. This year 128 students were awarded over $200,000. Awards ranged from a few hundred dollars in book scholarships to full-tuition.

The Western Ohio Education Foundation (WOEF) is made up of a group of community members from Auglaize, Darke, Mercer and Van Wert Counties who work tirelessly to provide scholarships and other benefits to Lake Campus students. Since 1995 the WOEF Board has awarded more than $3 million in scholarship funds. The Lake Campus Scholarship Fund would not be in existence without community donations and the tireless efforts of Julie Miller, WOEF Board Development Officer and Sandy Gilbert, Coordinator of the Scholarship Program at the Lake Campus.

Scholarship sponsors in attendance were Lester E. Brandewie, Dorothy A. & Lester E. Brandewie & Family Scholarship; Pete Falk, Crown Scholarships; Jerry Lehman, First National Bank New Bremen Scholarship; Dennis Hirt, (WOEF President) The Reynolds & Reynolds Foundation Scholarship; Chad Tester, Wayne Trails, A Lincoln Electric Company Scholarship; Julie M. Miller, STEM Scholarship; Chris Noble, Ruth & Willis Winters Nursing Scholarship; Brenda Lange, Setex, Inc. Scholarship; Kelly Lloyd, First Financial Bank Scholarship and Dan Hosek, AAP St. Marys Scholarship.
