The following workshops are offered through the Wright State University—Lake Campus Business Enterprise Center (BEC). Registration for the following non-credit courses is currently underway. There are no prerequisite requirements. Seating is limited and participants must pre-register in order to attend. Each month, the BEC hosts the Starting Right workshop for individuals planning to start a small business. This two-hour class gives you information to help you decide if business ownership is right for you and can assist you in starting your business. After attending the workshop, you are entitled to free, individualized business counseling. We help with most issues pertaining to financials for your business—cash flow, pricing, supply costs, record-keeping, etc. We also assist with your business plan narrative, as well as marketing and advertising, researching demographics, human resource issues, and more.

$35 per business. We recommend all who considering starting or buying into a business attend one of these sessions.
The BEC invites you to register for an innovative set of workshops. Each participating company designates a lead person, but two additional employees can attend any workshop in the series. This set of 10 workshops is available for a per business price. You choose who will attend depending upon the topic. This series will offer something for any business leader. Each workshop provides information to help you better manage or expand your existing business. You will receive guaranteed 24-hour email or phone response, as well as FREE consultations.
$55 per class/per attendee or $500 per business for the 10-part series!

Are you in charge of either department or office budgets? Do you have a project or idea but not sure how to pay for it? You need a budget! You will learn the budget components that turn your plans into reality. You will learn how to generate a budget using income, expenses, how to estimate project costs, and how to modify your budget to fit your needs. This class is for anyone who is new to budgets, as well as those who handle budgets on a daily basis.

Is the payroll part of your job responsibilities? Learn the skills necessary to perform basic payroll functions. You will explore topics such as earnings, deductions, insurance, pensions, remittances, and more! Keep your business financials organized. Participants can expect a basic understanding of payroll upon completion of this class. The course is geared to business owners and employees in human resources, payroll, or accounting.
