About the Vice Provost and Chief Administrative Officer

Appointed in February 2022, Andrea Faber, Ph.D., is the vice provost and chief administrative officer of the Wright State University–Lake Campus. She is responsible for overseeing the daily business operations and academic mission of Lake Campus, as well as developing, nurturing, and enhancing key community partnerships.

Faber earned her doctorate in higher education from the University of Toledo, a master's degree in applied statistics from Bowling Green State University, and a bachelor's degree in actuarial science with a minor in economics from The Ohio State University. She also received a certificate in institutional research from Florida State University.

This appointment is a homecoming for Faber, who served at Lake Campus as an instructor in mathematics from 2010 to 2014 and as an adjunct faculty member from 1993 to 1999. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she developed the Lake Campus Math Studio and laid the groundwork for the Student Success Center.

From 2014 to 2022, she held several leadership positions at Rhodes State College in Lima, Ohio, serving as professor and chair of mathematics, interim dean of arts and sciences, and dean of technology and liberal studies. As dean, she led a division consisting of the departments of STEM, Information Technology, Business and Marketing, and Humanities and Behavioral and Social Sciences. Prior to becoming an administrator, she also served as an assistant professor of mathematics and an instructor and coordinator of the Skills Center at Rhodes State.

Faber was honored with the Rhodes State Compass Presidential Award for Exemplary Contribution Toward Advancing the Success of the College in 2020, and the 2013–2014 Outstanding Faculty Service Award and the 2012 Outstanding Instructor/Lecturer Award from Lake Campus.

She is a resident of Celina and is an active member of the Mercer County community, serving as a founding member of the Women in Leadership Luncheon Series–Mercer County; advisory board member and treasurer of Immaculate Conception School; and past member of the Mercer County Central Committee, Mercer Residential Services Board, and the Mercer/Auglaize YMCA Board.
