Education Events for the Community

The Teacher Education Department at the Lake Campus strives to connect to the community in a positive way. Numerous times a year events are held for community members ranging from small children to retired teachers.

Upcoming Events 

Natural Science Summer Experience

Date: Wednesday, July 24, 2024
Activities (must pre-register): 5–7 p.m.
Musical Performance: 7:15 p.m. 
Location: Wright State University - Lake Campus


Activities: Lake Campus education students will be offering educational learning stations for children from preschool through 5th grade. Pre-registration is required for Nature Activities, and spots are limited. If you are signed up for the activities, please arrive by 6:15 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but parents/guardians must be present. Deadline: Monday, July 15, 2024, or until spots are filled. 

Musical Performance: At 7:15 p.m., a free musical performance will take place at the outdoor amphitheater at the Lake Campus. This is open to the public. Spots are unlimited. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome! Joanie Calem is a performing musician from Columbus, OH. She will be using the magic of music to create an interactive learning experience through her performance. The audience will get to enjoy nature and science themed songs and stories.

 

Professor Wow's Outer Space Adventures

Location: Wright State University–Lake Campus Amphitheater

Join Professor Wow on an exciting and educational journey through outer space! This engaging STEAM-based show is designed to teach kids about our unique universe while keeping them entertained and having a blast. So, buckle up and prepare for a laughter-filled and educational adventure into space!
