CELINA, OH – Wright State University’s Lake Campus and the Department of Electrical Engineering have combined efforts to begin offering electrical engineering courses in the fall of 2016. This is the first step of a phased implementation of an entire bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Wright State’s regional campus.
The program offers an innovative curriculum, which allows students to take electrical engineering courses during their first year, giving them an early understanding of their chosen major. Students will experience small classes with caring and experienced faculty who combine rigorous theoretical study with practical hands-on experience in their teachings. Additionally, this distinctive new program provides its graduates with outstanding preparation for professional practice, graduate school and engineering licensure.
Electrical engineers work with every kind of device imaginable, from computers, televisions, and smart phones to global positioning devices and automobiles. In Fall 2016, an introductory course to electrical engineering as well as a digital design course with lab will be offered to students to help provide the foundation courses for the degree.
This new degree will complement the increasingly popular mechanical engineering program already established at the Lake Campus. This past fall, the Lake Campus had over 150 students majoring in engineering and computer science fields.
