The applied business technologies program prepares you for entry-level jobs in businesses and organizations from many industries. You'll gain extensive knowledge in supervisory and managerial skills, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as hands-on training in various technologies, including the latest software applications. You'll learn how to manage the information flow in the office, handle client and customer relations, and provide effective communication within the organization or business. You will be educated as a professional who makes decisions and uses technology, communication skills, and entry-level business expertise to advance the public image and purpose of the businesses or organizations they work for.
Many of our students go on to further education in fields like business, organizational leadership, management, communications, and more. Many students continue with the bachelor's program in supervision and management or the business program. This program will also prepare you for entry-level positions in businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits. Some of our graduates have gone to work at Reynolds and Reynolds, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and Crown.
This program is designed to teach you skills and knowledge you can apply immediately in a career field. Classes like emerging technologies trends arm you with the knowledge of the latest software and technology while you build critical skills in communication, problem-solving, and leadership. A portfolio development course helps you prepare for the job market while internship classes will help you build your resume before you graduate.
We arm you with the knowledge and experiences you need to transition from student to professional. You'll get hands-on experience through a variety of community-based programs, service-learning opportunities, internships, and research projects. You will be taught skills you can apply to a career immediately, like financial record-keeping, technical software skills, and office management.
