Why Choose General Studies?

General Studies a two-year program that includes both general education courses and courses that typically comprise the first two years of a Bachelor’s degree (more specialized courses allow you to explore a particular area of interest in some depth). The Associate of Arts in General Studies is a flexible and practical program that can result in a standalone degree or an intermediate credential that can be applied towards a Bachelor’s degree.

Graduates of the Associate of Arts in General Studies program are prepared for entry-level positions that demand effective communication, information literacy, and foundational knowledge in a specific discipline or area of interest.

Admission

Review the admission requirements and complete the admission application. Identify whether you will be majoring in general studies.

If you are a current student and wish to change majors, go to the WINGS Express major/minor change request form and change your major. If you are an undecided/exploratory student, talk to your advisor about majoring in general studies.
