On this page:

Why Choose Law Enforcement?

The Associate of Technical Study: Law Enforcement concentration prepares you for employment in law enforcement, private security, corrections, juvenile facilities, and public safety settings. You will study the criminal justice system and how it functions, theories of criminal behavior, criminal law, administration and policies of law enforcement, and how the court system functions. Many of our students continue their education with the Bachelor of Arts in Crime and Justice Studies to further enhance their skills for the job market.

This program is also useful for current law enforcement agents looking to improve their skills and advance their careers. You can use this degree program to advance as a detective, crime scene analyst, or departmental manager, as well as look for further employment in agencies like the Secret Services, border patrol, and federal departments like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

This program helps prepares you for a career in local law enforcement, corrections, juvenile facilities, and public safety settings. This degree program is also useful for current law enforcement looking to expand their skill set and advance their careers in law enforcement.

Real-World Experience

We arm our students with the knowledge and experiences they need to transition from student to professional. Students gain hands-on experience through a variety of community-based programs, service-learning opportunities, internships, and research projects. All the instructors and adjuncts teaching are current or retired members of law enforcement, including professionals in the field of corrections, prosecuting attorneys, and jail administration. You will also participate in the practice of criminal justice through an internship in law enforcement, pre-law, or social service agencies.
