One of the most common questions potential transfer students ask is “Will my credits transfer?” It is important to know the difference between transferability and applicability of transfer credits.
Transferability means the credit hours earned from another school will be posted to your Wright State transcript. You will receive transfer credit for any college-level coursework for which you received a grade of D or higher. Developmental courses will not transfer to Wright State.
Applicability means the transfer credits posted to your Wright State transcript apply toward your degree. The applicability of credit depends on previously established course equivalencies, statewide policies, and evaluations by academic advisors or faculty. Credits may be transferable, but not always applicable to your degree requirements at Wright State.
In case your course needs re-evaluation for a course equivalency decision, please keep all of your course syllabi.
Our transfer team can review your transcripts and prior learning experiences to give you an idea of how credits will transfer. Email us at transfer@wright.edu with your name, intended major, colleges/universities you attended, and transcripts.
Transferology is a free, online self-service tool that allows you to research how your credits will transfer and apply from one school to Wright State.
Staying on track while pursuing your degree is the key to academic success. Following an Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathway (OGTP), Wright Path Transfer Guide, or Other Partnership Transfer Guide will maximize your transfer credits, time, and money. Both OGTPs, Wright Path Transfer Guides, and Other Partnership Transfer Guides outline courses required at each institution by academic major.
OGTP helps you plan no matter at which of Ohio’s public colleges or universities you begin.
Wright Path Transfer Guides are available as a part of the Wright Path partnership program.
