The Wright State University—Lake Campus Police Academy is in compliance with the standards set by the State of Ohio and by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Upon completion, cadets are qualified to take the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Test. Successful completion allows the student to become a law enforcement officer in any jurisdiction in Ohio, and also earn credit in the associate of applied science degree.
You can add the law enforcement academy to both the Associate of Applied Science: Law Enforcement Concentration or the Bachelor of Arts in Crime and Justice Studies to further enhance your skills.
Cadets who graduate from the law enforcement academy and pass the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Test are licensed to work in any local police department or sheriff's department in the state of Ohio.
The law enforcement academy is an applied program designed to equip you with the skills that will allow you to succeed as a law enforcement officer in Ohio. All skills taught are designed to meet the standards set by the state and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.

State certification as a police officer requires completion of a State Certified Police Academy, Physical Fitness Test, and a Final Examination.
